So...now that the new years' officially rung in, and the blog is up and running I thought it time to explain why I decided to start it in the first place.
Drew and I have been together 16 years come February 2012, and during that time we've had, well...alot...of adventures in bondage, kink, sm, travel, play...you name it. During the past few years, our business has been hit pretty definitely by both the recession and the downturn in the construction and housing market. It's made it very difficult to travel to things like MAL, MIR, Folsom, Dorey Alley, Palm Springs, London or any of the other many places we love to go, meet up with friends and have new adventures.
So, it makes it more important to me than ever to look back on some of the amazing times we've had, reflect a bit and look forward to the time when we'll have them again. That's the first reason.
Second reason. I come from a family that loves to take pictures. Lots of pictures. NO, I mean LOTS of pictures! I'm not an exception. Thus, we have a pretty complete collection of photos from the last 15-16 years of play, scenes, scenes with friends, scenes at MAL, scenes in other peoples' playrooms, scenes here, play at our rubber parties, and the rubber parties before we started hosting them. Scenes in rubber, sportsgear, leather, pvc, etc. etc. etc. A LOT of these photos are housed on my computer and no place else.
Some are backed up. A lot are well...not. We used to have our own website, which is now defunct, where we also had quite a few. Those are mostly from the early years of our time together....but there are lots that are from the last 7-8 years that have never seen the light of day. Sad, sad little pictures. Nobody has seen them, thus, nobody has loved them. Lonely existence for those little JPG's. SO...reason two! Time for all the little piccies to come out and be seen! So, the basic idea is I'm going to start an archive of the collection of the last 15 years or so of the " Adventures of JD and Drew! " Drum roll...trumpet fanfare, popcorn may now be eaten, or if you're hands are otherwise ummm, occupied after spending some time with our archive, very well then.
Final reason. The internet has done some remarkable things in terms of bringing people together that share kinks, fetishes, loves, etc. It's also made it remarkably easy to discover all of the aforementioned. But what I don't think it does a good job of is personalizing it. Blogs are much better at that, as they allow you to have a bit more poetic license, room to express your thoughts, and less limitation to what you can express ( so far )
There are lots of young guys coming up in the BDSM/kink/fetish community who are exploring their little shorts off. That is so cool. But there has to be lots of them also wondering...ok, I am kinky, obviously a lot of other people are kinky....but can I find true love AND be kinky? There are other blogs' out there exploring and answering those questions. Maybe this will be another.
So...now you know my secret desires. Reflect. Share. Explore. Answer.
Not a bad way to start a new year.
