Awake on the last morning of 2011, with sun shining on the water and things white with frost. I'll never stop loving looking out on Blake Island and Puget Sound from our windows...it's an always changing and beautiful site. I am thinking of moving the computer out of the back office and either into the downstairs bedroom near the windows or somewhere else...why spend time looking at a wall when I can look out there?
I'm hoping to spend a few hours today looking back on the year, which certainly had it's ups and downs for us. Notably good was the rubber play weekend, which was late this year, but still a lot of fun and gave us a chance to see some old friends who hadn't visited in awhile. I didn't realize how much I'd missed having it until we did it again. One of the best parts was sitting down with Bill and David, who started it all 30 years ago and doing a video interview of them, talking about how it started, where, when etc. That was good.
2011 also gave me the chance to play with some fun guys....my friend and CBT bud Sparky, Greg, Steve K., Drew of course, and some others. Towards the end of the year we've also gotten to socialize more with friends, which was something we rarely did over our too busy summer work time. I also got a chance to look at BDSM from a more bottom point of view with a local top who encouraged me to start back at the gym, lose some weight and bulk up, while reporting my results and progress to him. It was a good opportunity to explore a bit of that side of myself, and in the first 10 weeks I lost 12 pounds, which was even better! I'm
very much looking forward to resuming all that now that the holiday's are almost done and our schedule gets back to a more "normal" one.
We didn't get to travel much this past year, and that sucked. We both love travel, and going new places or just revisiting old ones, so the lack of that has been frustrating to us both. Something to resolve for 2012.
Of course, living in such a great spot, it's never too horrible to be home, but still...travel makes you just
appreciate it all the more. I did go to Michigan to my sisters' wedding, arriving in Chicago the morning the airports opened after the huge snowstorm...which made me realize again how much I do NOT want to live somewhere it does that. My friends Ed and Tom made that evening much more fun though...visiting others' playrooms and trying their gear is always so hot to me.....like being in an adult candy store, with sex!
Drew and I have gotten to try some new things the past year too, which after nearly 16 years always amazes me. Not that we try new things, but that there are still new things for us to try in the playroom! He's been exploring his pup side a bit, and I'm trying to learn to be a pup trainer...given that I had my black Lab Sparky for 15 years you'd think I'd know...but.... Maybe Sparky was just a better behaved pup in general? I've also been exploring a new kink for me, after discovering the Gag the Fag website, and finding that incredibly hot. Turns out I REALLY, REALLY like that LOL. It's also a kink which not a lot of guys actively admit they're into, so it's kind of fun finding them around the web and chatting about it. Of course, we always go back to the things we like best, which is rubber, bondage, CBT, electro, TT and Breath control. Luckily we both share love for most of those activities, so we never seem to run out of things to do....mostly just time and energy to do them.
SO....mostly 2011 was just too much work, and not enough play or friends? Yeah...that does seem to be
the conclusion. So, if you're looking to visit...make 2012 the year to do it! We love having new friends and old come and visit the Bondage Lodge!
